I've searched the forum...and I think it MIGHT work?! So this is my parts list so far, please tell me if there is anything else I need, and also whether I can get the same parts for cheaper (different brand is ok as long as reliable) or if I can get a better price for something of similar power. PS. I am in Australia, all prices are in Australian dollars. Basically I just want to know if this will work and if not what do I need to make it work. Dan Your motherboard model does not appear on the HCL list. I think you would be better replacing the motherboard with one having the Intel P35/ICH9 chipset and installing Kaliway 10.5.2 then combo update to 10.5.5 Your CPU is supported as is your graphics card. The other hardware has little relevance to a hackintosh install. Check my sig for components that work. All I had to do is patch the audio after the initial Kaliway install then again after the 10.5.5 combo update. This is easy to do. Everything else works OOB. Depending which one you choose updated BIOS are available for some motherboards that don't quite come up to scratch I am dual booting OS x 86 & Vista. In my experience both OS's run with equal performance. A good CPU comparison can be found here I have never found the need but I believe the Q6600 is easy to overclock. Are they any good?? Better or worse than the P35 or ICH9? I'm a bit confused! Especially if you happen to get a model that hasn't been patched yet, so you'd be SOL.. Get a Gigabyte motherboard, they seem to be the best supported/most compatible brand out there. I have an Abit IP35-E board which is below $100 on NewEgg.com, and has been a solid well performing board for me for almost a year now. -- I built this machine with the exact same plan you have. Solely to run OS X. Oh, and when you go to do the install, I highly recommend iATKOS 5i, outstanding distro. Little more complicated install, because you have to select the right combination of patches and such, but it seems to be the most modern install out there. Kalyway is seriously out of date nowadays and you'll be fighting to get Kaly up to 10.5.6, whereas I simply used software update and nothing else to go 10.5.6 with this new distro..
