Another amazing question. Please understand the following:

You have a hacked system. It is run by a hacked kernel (basic OS program). Maxxuss rewrote major portions of the Apple OS so it can work on your regular non-Apple PC.

If you install an OS update, any OS update from Apple, it is going to over-write that hacked and altered kernel. And then it is not going to work anymore on your non-Apple PC. Why, you ask? Because you just erased the hacked kernel and replaced it with a genuine updated Apple version intended to work only on Apple computers....

You will NEVER be able to update the hacked OS without someone re-writing the hack on the new kernel.

There is only one hacker in the world who has been able to overcome the Apple-specific protection. That is Maxxuss. No one else (no one, any where in the world) has shown the dedication and very high-level ability in machine-code debugging and patching to do this. I doubt anyone else (even if they had the talent) would at this point invest the hundreds of hours and months of work needed to create hack the Apple kernel. No one in this "community" has the slightest idea how to complete the task.

In addition, be aware that Maxxuss did not attempt to rewrite the 10.4.5 kernel update. He just used the 10.4.4 kernel he had already hacked. It is highly unlikely he is going to now attempt to do the complete hack on the 10.4.6 kernel. There is a point where the fun and challenge just wear a bit thin.

You want to update your OS every two months with the new Apple releases? Buy an Apple.

I sometimes wonder if Maxxuss is being helped by Apple. My hacked OS X works just well enough for me to learn the benefits of OS X but not quite well enough where my next computer will be anything other than an Apple, epsecially now with Boot Camp.

If I get a mini, sure there is a premium over Windows machines, but I get OS X and no fan noise. Boot camp is a big deal, though. I do need a Windows machine for some things.

Halfway through the optimizing system performace of installing the update, my computer freezes and I can't do anything. There is absolutely nothing on the hard drive except 10.4.5. If anyone can help me find out what the problem is, that would be great. Thanks
