I want to install Leopard on my desktop and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this board:

  • Motherboard: ASUS A8AE-LE
  • Chipset: ATI IXP 400
  • Video: ATI Radeon Xpress 200 (edit: Ill be upgrading to a PCIe card)
  • Audio: Realtek AC'97 (codec: ALC658) or ATI 4370
  • Network: Realtek RTL8193/810x
  • All hard drives and dvd burner are connected via IDE

If so, what works and what doesn't? Will I need any special drivers or patches?

Still interested? this post is from a while back so i'm not sure...

I got it to work with Kalyway 10.5.2, i have kexts for fully supported graphics (HD2400PRO) and sound. However, my sound drivers won't work with GarageBand... :D

I have since then updated to 10.5.7, but i lost my graphics support (boots to a black screen.) Still trying to fix that problem. And make garageband work...

Thanks! I would love to get 10.5.7 on this, but am having little success. I put in a GEForce 6200 card but am getting bad lag and a long startup using the ipc osx86 10.5.6. Were you able to get it going with the native (onboard) ATI graphics? Please PM me if you don't mind.
