alnova1 Posted December 11, 2008 Share Posted December 11, 2008 I have tried to install on Sata drive and all I would get was either a Grey screen or a spinning wheel so I decided to install a IDE Harddrive that I had and it works fine. The only problem is when I reboot, it says about the sata drive "The disk you inserted is not readable by this computer" I hit ignore and go to disk utility and its there but it only shows it being 127 gb but it should be 500 gb. I have my sata set to IDE and on Compatiable mode. Any Ideas? verdant Posted December 12, 2008 Share Posted December 12, 2008 i'm gonna ask a naive question, but can you detail what you mean by Formatting to mbr instead of GPT? thanks Use OS X Disk Utility within OS X Install DVD to partition your HDD (will lose other OSs if installed) into the number of volumes you require using Master Boot Record (MBR) partitioning scheme and format the intended OS X volume(s) on the HDD as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).......
