pdxBagel
So after 2 days, and lots of lost files later, i can finally boot into OS X! (yay) Unfortunately, not much works when I can get into there. I can't find much on my laptop, or even my family of laptops, and I was hoping to get some help from community, I know I'm probably one of 10,000 making posts like this, so I'll donate $ to insanelymac for some help. This site is all too important to go down. And FYI, I do own a legit copy of OS 10.5. So, as of right now, the only thing working is the ethernet card. Video seems good (not choppy at all) but I'm not sure if it has the right drivers set up. Here's my hardware: Its a Asus m50vm-x1 laptop (some places say just m50v) Heres the Newegg Specs and Asus Specs . I'm not new to OS X (switching to the asus from old MBP) but I'm definitely new at installing/finding drivers for it. PROC: Intel Core 2 Duo p8400 2.26 (only 1 core working) RAM: 4gb (working fine) VIDEO: GeForce 9600m gs 1gb WIRELESS: Integrated Intel® High Definition Audio chip ( Azalia) compatible I'm using the JAS installer, and I can only boot if I include "cpus=1" into the boot options, or else it just hangs at a grey screen. So I need to fix the dual core, video?, sound, keyboard, touchpad, and wireless. I'm obviously not expecting someone to put all the drivers in a pack for me to download (Although its my childhood fantasy). The more help I get the more I will donate, and I'll make sure to mention the people who helped me most. Not too mention anyone who helps will receive 3 internets, 1 interweb, 40 schrute bucks, and my loving admiration (non-refundable). Thanks in advance. hecker
You have to make sure you select the right system files you need when isntalling JaS's OS X release. Check your system profiler and see if you have CI/QE enabled with hardware support. I will not search for files for you, but I will show you how I do it. Enter this in google: site:insanelymac.com <your_search_query_here> Good luck!
