I've finally managed to get my installation booting.

But now I've the problem that the boot process stops

with this message flashing:

root:xnu-792.7.10.Obj~1./Release_I386

after a while the computer restarts?!?!

yeah, i get the EXACT same problem

what dvd image are you using to install? what are your hardware specs?

i used MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL_AMD_SSE3_SSE2).iso

and my computer specs are:

3.00ghz P4 Northwood (SSE 2)

ASUS P4P8T

1024mb Corsair xms

Radeon 9600 Pro GFX

i used that exact same iso, rdb. everything seemingly installed perfectly but when it goes to reboot into osx i assume. it just hangs there and after about 5 minutes there a little crossed out circle over the grey apple logo. ive been trying to figure out what the hell to do.

im about to make a boot disk and fdisk my harddrive in half so i can put windows back on. because i just completely wiped my drive to put osx on it (which might be part of the problem >.>

Cyp12die4, as for your computer restarting, mine hasnt done that yet. i left it there for about 30 minutes and it still was just sitting there at the osx boot screen.

i swear it feels like im a kid and playing monopoly again, do not pass go, do not collect your shiny new operating system

BlackFox, i get that problem as well.

When you start the installation i take it you didn't do an advanced install and check the patches for amd/intel sse2/sse3.

When i try installing without those patches i get the same problem as you, and when i install with the patches i get the same error as Cyp12die4.

Does anyone have any further ideas on how to solve this problem? I heard updating your BIOS has solved it for some people, but not for me :(

There's a guy out here who constantly writes

"the so called universall dvd isn't so universal" when he reads of somene who used the universal dvd and has a probelm. He may be write.

Try using the 0.4.4/5 or 10.4.6 from myzar or Jas. Thats should solve the problem.
