chandleya
I've been trying to get this to work on and off for a month. Host running Vista X64 w/ VMWare workstation 6.0 licensed. I've tried iAtkos 2.0i, Kalyway 10.4.10, Kalyway 10.5.2, JaS 10.5.4 I have YET to get a single one of these to work after installation. iatkos won't ever make it to the installer, the kalyway tiger will get through the installer then constantly reboot thereafter, and the JaS does the same. yes, i've gone through an exhausting plethora of modifications to the vmx file and the guest type. I've also gotten the pcwiz pre-built image, only to have the vmdk file to unrar as corrupt -- the torrent checks out time and time again. Whats the magic release? I only need this for Safari testing of web page builds. Don't suggest using Windows Safari, anyone in design will know better than that. tigroutigrefou
Hi After a couple of failures, the only duo which works for me was VMware Server 2.0.0 Pcwiz preconfigured virtual machine Other release didn't detect my virtual hard drive Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139841-vmware-workstation-6-and-osx/#findComment-990545 Share on other sites
chandleya
I have the will, just need someone to give some viable insight. I've read that 10.4.10 kernels don't support VMware by design. Yes there are plenty of topics here, and I would follow some of them. Also use Workstation 6.5 and you will get a lot further. chandleya
Any suggestions on topics to follow? with > 330,000 members using that ever-elusive "search feature" to mine useful information becomes rather impossible. I've seen that you yourself have written several writeups (that all seem like they'd best fit a single posting rather than a group thereof; sticky?). Which procedure do you recommend? Many folks had fine luck with VMware 6 and Tiger. Tiger would be fine for me, this is just a test environment. I just need something to work!
