Cosmin Petre
Short Description of issue Whilst unraring a large file my Hack running 10.5.5 froze up and I had to reboot. Upon reboot I am stuck at the blue screen just before the login window apppears. My symptons are exactly the same as this guy on apple's forum. He was able to fix his issue by reinstalling Comboupdate10.5.5. My issues I can't reinstall 10.5.5 using Target mode as this isn't available to me on OSX86. Main Question Is it possible to run the .pkg via terminal (and still run while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done)? I'm able to browse the files folders on the Hack from my iMac but I'm unable to screen share. I have copied the MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.5.pkg onto the desktop of the hack. Could I use the following code to install? /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/usr/sbin/installer -pkg /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/Users/myname/Desktop/MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.5.pkg -target /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/ Thanks in advance for any help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139704-run-pkg-from-terminal/ Share on other sites
rhyguy
why not boot in single user mode (-s) and try it, or you could try using terminal, or the "open" command but i'd try running disk repair stuff first, as unraring a large file is different to a possible failed installation of 10.5.5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139704-run-pkg-from-terminal/#findComment-989526 Share on other sites

Do you know if my terminal command syntax looks ok?
