myron
So I've upgraded my OSX from 10.4.3 8F111 to OSX 10.4.5 (myzar) Using a MSI K8M-Neo-V mobo. Worked flawlessly with 10.4.3 but after installing 10.4.5 as an update thru VMware my mouse dosent work in native and the messages saying that AppleUSBHID.kext complains of no transaction for 112 seconds when booting in verbose mode and when its in OSX I cannot use my mouse and the AppleVIATTA.kext was not properly installed. None of these problems occour when I load it up with VMWare. I've read about using back the 10.4.3 drivers...can someone teach me how to extract it from my 10.4.3 DVD? please help. jonlevine
I found these instructions for the VIAATA issue, which helped me immensely with speed: --> Open Terminal --> sudo -s --> insert your password --> go to root --> cd System/Library/Extensions --> chown -R root:wheel AppleVIAATA.kext --> chmod -R 755 AppleVIAATA.kext --> reboot I know longer get the "AppleVIAATA.kext" error when booting and all of my drives are now recognized at their full size (before, OS X only saw up to 128gb) and run at full speed. As far as the USB goes: I'm somewhat in the same boat. I've heard about the 10.4.3 hack, but never any instructions on how to do it. I'm going to keep an eye here and continue to search for a fix.
