David Berk
I am running the latest version of itunes on a Dell Dimension 3000 system. I have a GeForce 5500 video card (latest NVinject drivers) and a Soundblaster live sound board. I am running 10.5.5 loaded from the ideneb 1.3 distribution. itunes 8.0.2 is completely functional except that when I play a purchased movie I hear the audio but the video is scrambled and unchanging. I am able to play the movie using the downloaded free Quicktime player. This makes no sense. I have removed and reinstalled itunes multiple times, validated permissions, all to no avail. Why would playing the movie work in Quicktime and not iTunes ? Can anyone shed some light ? Any ideas to try ? Thanks, Dave Berk Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139359-itunes-movie-problems/ Share on other sites
alicizmar
Maybe iTunes doesn't like your video card? See if Coverflow is working on it ok and it's just movies. I, on the other hand, get no Coverflow in iTunes, but videos play just fine. David Berk
Actually, Coverflow (I assume you mean paging through album covers) did not work until I upgraded to a Video Card. I can run the video with Quartz GL enable or disabled. Also, why would Quicktime and VLC viewer both work ? Gujal
In System Profiler, under Graphics Properties do you get Quartz Extreme - Supported Core Image - Hardware Unless both are available you will end up with weird issues such as the one that you have got.
