artcool
Hi, i was trying to install Kalyway 10.5.2 in my PC , have already the Kalyway DVD etc... i have XP already installed and , with Partition Magic i made a new Partition (30 Gb) before the XP ntfs partition. Ok, i made my dvd-rom 1st boot device and restart the machine. As soon as Darwin start loading my system restart in a loop . Tried -v , -x , -F , all without success. My motherboard is ABIT I-N73HD (nvidia chipset), and i have two harddrives ( my system drive, in which i plan to install OXS86 is a IDE (PATA) one, the second drive is SATA (for data only). 2 GB Ram, video onboard, LAN onboard, Firewire onboard Is there any known workaround this ? Is is my first attempt in osx86 , so any tips are welcome. regards, artcool Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139296-instalation-failure/ Share on other sites
artcool
Ok, no one on this. I found out what was causing the loop boot . My DVD drive was in Slave Mode , the Master was my System HD. I reserved the SATA drive for Data/work only. It was just a matter of removing the Jumper (slave) from my DVD drive . Now i can start the X86 Darwin boot and install EVERY time. I have a 40 pin 80 conductor IDE cable, so i think the X86 install relay on the Cable select mode only, i'm i true ? thanks ps- now i have a common problem (in the middle of install i receive the message "could not validate Essentials package"...but i'm working on this..
