rhyguy
i have some dvds that i want to make a backup of incase the originals get scratched, but they are dual layer and CSS encrypted, so the dont work with toast. What is a good (preferably free) program to copy these DVDs? Riley Freeman
Try Fairmount. It comes with DVDRemaster and uses VLC to decrypt on-the-fly so you can use Toast or even Disk Utility to back up. Riley Freeman
Did you install VLC as well? Fairmount needs that to decrypt. But the studios are always coming up with new ways to {censored} off their customers, so you might have an unsupported copy protection. On the Windows front, DVDFab Decrypter is probably the best of the newer ones.
