Alright.

I've installed iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5!

Now I get one problem (so far, that is..)

It tells me to reboot after installation, alright.

Then I go to my boot options becuase I have installed it on an External Hard drive, and I choose boot from USB.

Then it starts loading, the apple screen comes up, and after a minute - 5 minutes I get a pop up sort of thing and it says I need to reboot, I've rebooted a few times, and it just keeps showing up

Any help?

Thanks :D

Reboot with -v -x cpus=1 and see what happens........

Alright, i did the -v -x cpus=1, and it shows a lot of Loading HFS+ file things, and i'm using a different computer for the forumnow, so i can trouble shoot and not have to restart every time

SO since my last post its been on t thing that at the end says :

Loading HFS+ file: [/system/Library/Extensions/AppleGenericPCATA.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleGenericPCATA] from 423070.

Then theres the blinking _ under that one, and theres a whole bnch others above it but I just said that once since its the last one.

Now what? Lol thanks!

So it is stuck at the blinking cursor then? This suggests there is a problem with this kext or before it somewhere......can you post a screen shot of the bootup screen showing the lines above and including this......it will help with diagnosis......

I had a similar problem that iDeneb would install fine but would refuse to boot.

Here is what I did. Your mileage may vary. My machine has a 6800GT display card.

1. Boot into single user mode (-s option on bootloader)

2. Enter the following commands

/sbin/fsck -fy /

/sbin/mount -uw /

mkdir /Backup

mv /System/Library/Extensions/NV* /Backup

reboot

3. Now at Bootloader prompt, use -f

4. This should boot and let you finish the Apple Setup. You will be using VESA mode so no QE+CI yet

5. Use OSX86tools and install the Graphics string for your Display card

6. Use KextHelper to install the NV* kexts from /Backup directory

7. Reboot

8. After reboot you should now have full QE+CI, however as you are on Geforece7150, i doubt if you will get CI

That didn't work I guess... when I rebooted with -f after all of that, it took me to the apple screen, and said I need to restart again

Try

boot with -s

mount -uw /

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*.kext

exit

Verdant, that worked!

I'm doing the rest of the install now i guess.

I can't wait to see what happens after!

Edit:

And oops sorry looked like a v on my paper lol

one problem now;

I'm @ the Do you already own a mac? screen, and when I click continue (with do not transfer info now, ofc) it takes me back to the first screen, selecting the counrty I'm in..

Should I try different stuff, like instead of choosing US, put Canada? or something? thanks lol

Try.....

1. Run single user mode using the -s flag while booting i.e. type -s at the "boot:" prompt and wait for the prompt ":/ root#" to appear, type each of the following lines, followed by Enter and then waiting for ":/ root#" to re-appear.

2. Mount the file system by typing "mount -uw /" (without quotes) at the ":/ root#" prompt.

3. Change the root password by typing "passwd root" at the ":/ root#" prompt and then typing in a new root password and retyping it again as requested.

4. Create the .AppleSetupDone file by typing

"touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone" (without quotes) at the ":/ root#" prompt

5. Boot the system by typing "exit" (without quotes) at the ":/ root#" prompt.

6. Reboot from HDD with "-v -f" and the OS X Login screen is presented; enter "root" as Name and for Password, the root password chosen previously, and the system logs you in as System Administrator.
