Hi guys,

Im looking at buying a Dell D630 for college (because I can't afford a MacBook) and was wanting to know if it will run OS X, and if so, what will work and what wont, which DVD should I use, I have an iATKOS v4i disc laying about, will that work or should i get a different version, I don't mind using the bay :)

Thanks for you help very very much!

Connor

Sorry to do this, but i kind of need an answer fairly soon, the item runs out on eBay in about 6 hours, so if I don't get an answer soon, i might not be able to buy it  so if anyone can shed some light on the situation i would be very thankful.

sorry to bother you guys

thanks anyway

Yes it works well on a D630. I installed using iAtkos 4i. There is a tutorial on the site somewhere outlinging the steps to install. Only thing you may want to change is wireless card from an Intel based one to a Broadcom, although I used a Buffalo 54G PCMCIA wireless card in the slot which happened to be a Broadcom shipset and was seen as an Airport card.

I just installed using the iATKOS v4.1 and it works well, even updated it to 10.5.5. Reboot/shutdown does not work, but everything else works well. I ended up buying a Dell 1390 WiFi card from ebay for $10 shipped and it works as an airport out the box. Great little laptop for OS X!
