retroz
Ok, some have success with graphic cards, others do not, some have on-board audio working other don't and some have no PCI cards working or ethernet, others do. The thought is will the OS ever be released? Lets see, Vista is off target AGAIN, it seems to be bloated, doesn't seem to look that good, (in my opinion it looks like a skin that's all) and I love the y'z dock too bad Apple owns the patent. Anyway, the argument is Apple is a hardware company and makes all their $$ in hardware, well is it me or didn't they make most of the $$ from iTUNES and iPODS? If so, why not release the OS or license it to certain companys, maybe AMD could become a vendor, DELL, HP, etc, it already allows the booting of windows and with Vista delayed why not offer the OS to the general public? Sure, they might take a hit on their QUAD core machines but I think the offset of OS sales would skyrocket....as many mom and pop users would love a new and shiny interface (GUI) while still having the option to boot into windows for the windows only programs. One wonders if this is just a matter or time and how much apple watches us here to see how far along we come (debugging, coding, etc) before deciding to let the cat out of the hat and release the OS to the general public. In addition, Vista is supposed to be very intrusive, let alone a program that will require a new PC for the general public. I say, release the OS, support only certain boards or vendors at first and watch Apple gain a 15% increase in one years time. Zappadoc
I agree 100%, this is a great opportunity for Apple to take some part of the PC market... z Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13800-os-x-released-to-general-public-ever/#findComment-87756 Share on other sites
