Hi

Intreaged by the topics I read and two friends who bought a Mac I would like to build my own hackintosch. I have read quite a few threads and came up with the following build. I was was wondering if this build is OK for a Hackintosch and not overkill / or not good enough. My old build is a Asus A8N-E with a Sempron +3500, which I will be moving to my parents for them to use.

GigaByte EP45-DS3R Intel® P45, 1.600 MHz, 2x PCIe x16 2.0, Crossfire, Socket 775

Asus EN8600GT MAGIC/HTP NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT, 512 MB, 128 Bit, PCIe x16

Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q6600 4x 2400 MHz, 2x 4096 kB, 1066 MHz, Kentsfield Boxed Cooler

Corsair 4 GB DDR2-800 Kit4096 MB, CL5 5-5-18, 2 stuk(s), PC2 6400

Midi Tower - Antec Sonata III 3 x, 4 x, 500 Watt, ATX1

MS-TECH Card Reader 3,5"

I still have a DVD Burner and 250 GB hard disk in my old computer which i would like to use (Asus A8N -E with a Sempron +3500).

I will be using it for internet, e-mail, photo archiving and retouching, archiving of music and movies, installing media center software and playing games via Windows (Command & Conquer)

Your help is much appreciated

You might want to look at a faster dual core rather than a quad core. The Quad core will only help you if you are doing a limited number of things (mostly Photoshop, Video and 3D stuff) and the faster dual core will help you more with most things.

True enough my quads power is mostly wasted unless I am encoding some video.
