y0itsj0hn
I need to run Windows for certain accounting software I use, but I have a few questions I need help with before I invest a lot of what little money I have right now. To run Windows with Bootcamp, your system has to be completely restarted and booted up in Windows, correct? In Parallels, I know you run Windows essentially within OSX, so would I benefit from also upgrading from Tiger to Leopard, then running either XP/Vista in Parallels? And lastly, heh, XP or Vista? franciz
Hi there, it would be better if you could post your Hardware Setup so that we could assess the resources, Windows and OSX has minimum hardware requirements that you have to meet in order for us conceive a clearer picture of your plan and suggest a more definite answer... And lastly, heh, XP or Vista? Yes, exactly. I personally prefer VMWare Fusion to Parallels Desktop, although Parallels 4 is supposed to be a big improvement. Either Tiger or Leopard will work. (of course, you need an Intel Mac). For running in Parallels/VMWare, I suggest Windows XP, as it's requirements are lighter, and it works better. Although Vista does work. It's good to have 2 gigs RAM if you wanna run Parallels or VMWare Fusion.
