franciz
Hi there, heres good news for you, the more you add ram the better OSX will perform and eventually Windows, there should be no adverse effect on the installation since ram hardware technically provides more resources to OSX, but yet as a personal experience i have an Acer Aspire 5570, dual boot on separate logical disks with Windows Vista and OSX 10.5.1, previously having 1Gig and increased my ram into 2Gig using Kingston Value RAM for Acer Notebooks, works perfect for me. fishstick
Its not gona make it boot much faster, its gona make your system more responsive, as it is not going to have to go the disk (virtual memory) as often. The more ram the better Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137852-will-a-ram-upgrade-spoil-my-hard-work/#findComment-976367 Share on other sites

errandwolfe
Let me add a caveat to the discussion here....you can add ram up to about 3.5 Gb with no worries at all about issues on OS X. That being said when you get to 4 Gb there have been issues with locking up with certain SATA/IDE controllers.
