ckybam69
if any1 is having trouble booting into 10.5.5 and has a nvidia video card (9600mgt here) can try this fix. CREDIT goes to RAIDENII since that is who i got this fix from. i have already helped 3 people with this so thought it might be useful to others. if you have done the combo update or used ideneb to isntall 10.5.5 and you cant boot into it it might be because your video card is not working. when you install osx do not check any video cards (i unchecked all audio cards so you might want to try that too). 1. after install boot with -s 2. once in single user mode type /sbin/mount -uw / 3. then type cd /System/Library/Extensions 4. then type rm -rf NVDAResman.kext 5. then type exit and you should boot into osx. once you boot into osx its up to you to find out how to install the proper kexts for your video, audiom and such. once again credit goes to RAIDENII for this as i did not figure this out just found his post and it was very useful. {{_King AJ_}}
Thank you for posting this. And many thanks to RAIDENII!!!!!!!!! This is exactly what I needed. I'd been messing around with installs...switching to Vista to look up info, installing again for about two days before I found this. Thanks again!! Now I need to find the drivers for sound. And I'm stuck in 1024 x 768 and need to be in 1440x900.
