motorhead89
Hey all....I tried to use the search function on this forum but alas that command is a broken link and I cannot get it to it. I've been reading about other problems with the frozen apple screen at startup and this has happened to me. No matter what kernel I use or what drivers I install or if I use iDeneb or Kalyway it still freezes. I'm really stumped as to what is causing this so any suggestions would rock right about now! Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137371-p5kpl-cm/ Share on other sites
AlpineRaven
There is something to do with the logic board that doesnt work- I've tried on that logic board already and never works. Even with iDeneb, Kalyway & iAkatos. Cheers AP Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137371-p5kpl-cm/#findComment-972059 Share on other sites

frankle
I am in the process of sorting out an installation using the XxX 10.5.5 Beta, I have it working except for the ethernet drivers which I am currently working on. Will post when I have some more info. Edit: Just had a thought, you might want to try a real video card, this is my only change between when I tried iAtkos and Kalyway and now with this new XxX distro. I purchased a MSI 8400GS 512MB (very cheap) so that I had a DVI output, and it also comes with the low-profile adapter that I needed. I have also updated the BIOS to the latest one on the ASUS website, can't remember what it was though.
