Flapshot Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 Hi Guys, As title, I have an Asus A8N-E mainboard, and a 6800GS 256mb PCi-e video card. I have Leo4allv4 installed, and working pretty good. But I haven't got QE working with the video card, I suspect I need to install a kext somewhere, but I was confused as to really what to do. Also, my USB ports work fine (using KB and Mouse) but I can't get any usb flash drives to work, they don't even show in "disk manager" or whatever it's called. I put a Dlink Gigabit 530T PCi card in and system profiler says no pci cards are installed. So aprt from network, the flash drive issue and QE, the system is pretty good. Just would really love some help with these last few issues. Much appreciated. Regards. user555 Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 what dvd did you use for the mac osx ? i once had problems with usb flash drives but once i plugged them in before the system boots i dont have much issue with that anymore... are you having problems with sound or anything else ? im currently getting Leopard Zephyroth AMD 10.5.2 Rev.1 Release... and will try getting it with this motherboard... I ALSO NEED HELP WITH KEXT FILES IF SOMEONE WANTS TO LET US KNOW HOW TO INSTALL THEM BECAUSE IVE TRIED THEY SAY THEY INSTALL BUT NEVER WORK!!! Sound seems to work OK, but I plan on using a Tascam US-122 (as I will be making music) and using that as a sound device. So last two issues are network and video.... user555 Posted November 21, 2008 Share Posted November 21, 2008 im actually using the same exact setup when it comes to the mainboard umm graphics card sound about right or similiar to the one i have... my concern that i have though is that i couldnt get the keyboard to work when the system booted up, i was using a different mac version for it..... (iDeneb_v1.3.10.5.5) Im currently waiting for kalyway 10.5.2 and hopefully that will run on there. i also have some other versions in que so hopefully if kalyway doesnt go one of those might... Please update this thread as you find more it be very helpful to me and perhaps other users.. can you unplug and replug in and have the operating system read it still? i believe you have to keep it plugged in when you boot im not sure if you can hotswap usb or flash devices.... that would really suck. Flapshot Posted November 21, 2008 Author Share Posted November 21, 2008 @user555 - I have kb and mouse working fine, but I haven't tried booting without them plugged in and then plugging them i to see if they work. I know with a USB flash drive I need to boot with it installed for it to work\mount ok. I will look at Slice's instructions (thanks man). I have LAN working good now, but I dont have Video - major pain this. Also, I get b0 error so have to boot with install dvd in drive. I have made the partition active etc etc and still no joy on that. I'm so close, yet so far! OSX actually runs pretty good though... user555 Posted November 21, 2008 Share Posted November 21, 2008 well i couldnt get kalyway to work quite right... ive read around and someone said its for intel even know it says on the label amd so im not really sure.. im going to wait for leo4all and that Zephyroth AMD 10.5.2 Rev.1... maybe better luck with one of those... what do you mean video doesnt work on it ?... The card works, I get 1024x768 only, and no QE etc. Installing NvInject or PunkGurls drivers hangs the display. Tried several kexts, and added the cards ID etc etc. No joy at all I'm afraid.
