Alessandro17
I read in the wiki that the above mentioned motherboard works flawless out of the box. Now it seems that it isn't the easiest motherboard to find. I found and ordered from Singapore an Intel D915GLVGL i915GL. Is it the same thing? marliwahoo
I think the best board for OSX is the intel 945gntlkr ($125 at New Egg). It has support for dual core chips, built in intel graphics, sound and network works, built in firewire works, you can use an add2 card for a FULLY supported second display (qe, ci & spanning). It has raid, tpm and efi for possible future use (not supported in osx yet) The ($80 at computer geeks) intel 915guxlx (my board) has similar features - with out dual core support, raid, tpm and efi. Graphics, network, sound and firewire all work great. There are other good mbs, but these are the closest to the Apple ADP boxs. Alessandro17
I ordered the Intel D915GLVGL because by reading the list of compatible hardware one might believe that it is the best thing after sliced salami Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13714-intel-d915glvgl-motherboard/#findComment-87592 Share on other sites

marliwahoo
I don't think input is working on any mb. I don't think input is working on any mb. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13714-intel-d915glvgl-motherboard/#findComment-88399 Share on other sites
thrunner
Input works in Asrock 775 dual 915GL with 10.4.5. That is one of the cheapest and most compatible mobo but unfortunately no longer carried by most dealers. Doesn't support Pentium D (dual core) though. muxion
Well, I got the D945GTPL, not sure why over your (Marliwahoo) pick. Cel D336 (D920 later if it works! Mmmm... ) 1 Gb PQI RAM. Pioneer A06 DVD. Tried both 300 Gb SATA NCQ and 10 Gb PATA IDE hard drive. Been trying native installs with Myzar (THanks!) and home pp'd isos (all MD5 good), using Apple install DVD Disk Utilities to erase drive, but always get display not recognized and panic. I guess I was dreaming of a perfect install 1st time! If anything looks out of place here, a push in the right direction much appreciated!!! Meanwhile, I'll keep reading and searching and reading. Thanks to all for so much effort and sharp thinking!! The specs of the Asrock 775 and of the one I ordered would seem identical: http://www.videopro.com.sg/catalog/product...roducts_id=1138 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13714-intel-d915glvgl-motherboard/#findComment-89131 Share on other sites
