Hi!

I've got a problem with my startup. When i turn the computer on, i need to have the installation disk inside the drive. If not, the system won't boot. Moreover, in the System preferencies, when i click on startup disk, none apears besides the network startup.

Somebody can help me? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for answering!

The thing is that if i turn on my pc without the Mac OS Installation Disc inside the dvd drive, the monitor goes black with a small cursor on the upper left side of the screen and nothing happens. I need to have the installation disk inserted, don't press any button when it asks me to, and the Mac OS 10.4.5 will boot.

Any clue? Thanks!

Hi, my machine is an Intel Pentium D 920, an Intel D945 mobo, 2 GB DDR2 500Mhz, GMA950, 160GB HD ATA, Pioneer A08 and Mac OS X 10.4.5.

I have my disk with three partitions. The first one has the OS X installed in it, the second one is also a Mac partition, where i put documents, music... and the third one is free, without formating.

I installed OS from the prepatched 10.4.4/10.4.5 DVD and i simply made the partitions and installed in the first one.

I'm afraid that i install windows in the third partition and OSX never boots again.

Any idea? Thanks!!!
