Dual core works with dvd boot, not with hd boot

Hello,

I've installed Kalyway 10.5.2 on HP NX7400 laptop(Core Duo T2250, 2.5GB RAM). When I first see the desktop/working os after install everything works great including BOTH CORES. I've used it for quite a long time and no hang-ups. In About Mac I see "Core Duo" and in System profiler the number of cores is 2.

 

Then I restart and the system doesn't boot unless I disable one core. What is different when the system is started by the installation (DVD) right after install and when the system is started from HD?

Can I copy something from the installation DVD to HD so it will start in the same way and get both cores working?
