dogpile
Hi, I'm installing Mac OS 10.5.5 from Ideneb 1.3 on a Acer Aspire M5500 computer. First i installed it on a 320 GB USB drive. After i got it working on the USB drive i tried to install it on the S-ata 500 GB harddisk. When i'm in the installation menu it does see the internal s-ata harddisk, but when i'm in mac OS x on the USB harddrive it doesn't see the s-ata harddrive and the DVD drive. When i check the hardware.. it says there is no (s) ATA equipment installed. I can boot into MAC OS on the s-ata, but it stucks at the startup screen. I tried to install mac os with different kernels from the Ideneb dvd and tried the added intel ICH drivers for the chipset. Tried the VIA SB drivers too, but it didn't work. S-ata must be the problem. I'm reinstalling vista to get more specs on the controller I think there's a intel g965 ich8 chipset inside. I cannot check for more specs now, because vista is gone Hope somebody can help me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136377-problem-can-install-on-usb-drive-but-not-on-s-ata-harddisk/ Share on other sites
dogpile
it's a intel ICH8R/ICH9R driver for the controller. Found the Sollution The way to fix it.. maybe an good way to install your mac os on your PC 1. Install MAC OS X on USB harddrive. You can boot from the USB harddrive and use this solution to fix the AHCI problem: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...p;hl=ich8r+sata 2. use carbon disk cloner to copy the entire usb harddisk to your prefered harddrive install EFI V8 on GUID http://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/i...php/t75928.html and use Chameleon boot loader installer to make it boot.
