Hello there,

I have 10.4.5 running very stable no supported video card yet but it's coming via mail, My question is

Why my Camcorder (panasonic Dv-203) isn't working in ti*er I get it working in Win* but osx don't detect it. I'm trying to use with imovie HD and a fully compatible firewire pci card.

Any adviced will be appreciated.

No, the panasonic Dv-203 is a MiniDV camcorder, so it must be something else... Try using the system profiler and click on the firewire tab, how does the panel read? If its working properly there should be some information there like max speed, etc. If no info is displayed, then there is prob something stopping os x from detecting your ports.

First of all this is my first post and let me Thanks al of You for the quick response and support that You're providing.

The Firewire section read as follows:

Max bus supported speed: 400mb

I bought a Mac compatible card, but here's my question (newbie)

Is there a place on osx that let me specify what's in each port? I will try to connect the camera via usb since usb devices are working good including printer hp 1315xi just to verify if it's a firewire problem or camera incopatibility, and will pors the result ASAP.

Thanks, I will be posting again tomorrow. Please if there any sugerence at this point let me know, any help is greatly appreciated

(Just one note to You ZeDz, maybe You know it but here it goes, the pioneer 110d is a fully mac supported dual layer dvd burner and n****eg**.com have great prices on it.)

OK, so the Firewire plug is detected, the camera gets plugged in, and nothing happens.

Try plugging it in without opening iMovie first. This *should* force iMovie to open and gather the information from the camera. If not, then we know there is an issue between the camera and iMovie somehow.

Another detail, I'm using the camera with the battery it must be in AC power to import? I will try the iMovie thing to see what happens.
