m1nhx
Hi all, I was wondering if any one is having performance issues when running multiple applications, when I'm using more than one application everything seems to be stutering my osx86 system reports all four cores active yet it's not nearly as smooth as my imac with just two cores, even bringing up the dock with genie animation seems sluggish when theres multiple apps running !! Apart from this the system okay display, audio, nic is all fine!! Bart86
Well, I'm currently having a problem with my Q6600 multitasking, but only when it is overclocked. When I leave everything at auto in the bios it multitasks really smoothly. When I take it to 3.2Ghz (it is stable and well cooled), things get choppy when multitasking. I have yet to find out why. Bart86
A follow up. My issue was related to an over clocking bug on my board (Gigabyte 965P DS3 rev 3.3). When over clocked, the PCI-E slot only initializes to 1x instead of 16x. The solution is to set the PCI-E bus speed to 105MHz and the board will boot at 16x.
