jross21
Last week I finally decided to update from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 after weeks of hesitation. I thought I followed the right steps but for some reason I ran into the infamous intelpowermanagement problem. Now when I boot it hangs then panics. I can't boot into safe nor single-user mode. I did however back up my extensions before the update but I put them on my desktop thinking I could access then from another computer if need be. Unfortunately I don't have permission to access these folders from my G5(which I plugged my non-bootable hard drive into).... So basically to make a long story short I backed up the extensions folder(post update) onto my G5 and I want to restore it back after I delete the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext but every time I try this(using OSx86 Tools) it doesn't overwrite the bad extensions folder and I still can't boot. Is there anyway to restore these extensions without the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement kext? I have the Kalyway 10.5.2 disc if that helps. I really can't afford to reformat the drive - I backed up all my crucial data, but I'd lose a lot of small. Any help is greatly, greatly, greatly appreciated! Caps18
http://mysticus.titanous.com/update.html I didn't use this technique, but the upgrade didn't work for me either.
