Sorry if this information is already available on the forum. Tried to do a search, but no luck.

I installed Retail Leopard on my system using this guide: http://menoob.com/2008/09/04/hackintosh-in...il-dvd-on-a-pc/

My question is about the 'Chameleon for Hard Disk'. I noticed that the 'extra' folder was copied to the root of my Leopard drive! I was under the assumption that the kexts would be copied to and loaded from the hidden EFI partition. If it being in root is normal, what would be the difference in just installing the regular Chameleon and making an 'extra' folder in root and adding the kexts?

Also if needed, can I just add newer kexts to the extra folder?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I can tell from a quick read, the link you are using is a standard 132-Retail install.

If you want to keep your bootloader/kexts on a separate partition you need to follow Munky's Method HERE.

i.e. it is similiar but you actually have to create/format the hidden EFI partition in an extra step...

good luck,

ninetto

Hi ninetto. Thanks for the response. I don't have any issues with my current install, but I was just wondering if that is how Chameleon for Hard Disk is supposed to work. i.e. the Extra folder is supposed to be in root?
