crazy broken looking lcd upon boot.

ok i have a panasonic let's note r7 i finally got it to create a partition for installing mac os and i would like some help on what to select.

 

i installed iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5

 

and i didnt really know what kernal to do i chose orgianly the vanilla kernal becuase i was told i could use it. i selected the intel patch for the graphics, and because i was unsure what network card at the time i selelcted all of the network card drivers. same thing for sound.

 

it showes the apple logo and boots for a while then just almost looks like i shatterd my lcd in my laptop... and it gets brighter... any ideas?

I Get exactly the same problem. The only thing i do - is reboot about 10-20 times, sometimes it will work ok after 1 reboot, sometimes more. It is to do with the graphics card (GMA965) .

 

I have tried numerous board suggestions, but to no avail.

 

Half the screen goes white the other half black if left after it looks smashed.....

i had this problem with my p1620, try booting in safe mode with the -x flag that should get you to the log on screen and into the OS. Then turn on Remote Management. Reboot normally and your screen will be garbled again, log into the machine remotely with VNC and change the resolution, it is prob set at 800x600. At 1024x768@60hz there shouldn't be any problems.

 

This happens because the apple video drivers cannot properly detect your display so it outputs the wrong resolution/frequency.
