atomriot
So i got this dell m6300 rockin iATKOS 4i and its pretty grand. my setup is windows XP on the first partition and OS X on the other. the m6300 is running NVinjectGo 0.2.0 and have the nvidia fx1600 i think with device id 0x040d. I list this because I think the graphics are the issue. in fusion i have my first partition with XP running just fine. I can go in single window mode and in full screen mode just fine but when i go into unity mode i get blank windows. they are gray but i am not sure if thats some color preference somewhere. I have attached screenshots of the before and after. the window i demonstrated with is visual studio but it does this with any window. the sorta odd thing about this is when i dont have that unity window focused and i click on it, you can see the contents of the window for a split second then it goes back to the gray look. another note was in parallels with vista i could run with coherence but with xp the parallels video driver crashes the vm. i am not real sure but it seems that i cannot run fusion unity mode or parallels coherence mode with an xp sp3 image. any ideas? thanks in advanced Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135760-vmwar-fusion-in-unity-issues/ Share on other sites
dies
I'm guessing you're using the latest version of Fusion. If so, drop back a version to the 1.* series. Yes, you will lose some features and it's not as nice, but on the other hand it should work right. atomriot
does the 1.* have the unity mode then? and is it as fast as the 2.0 version? fusion seems to run much quicker than parallels did. I was trying to see if it would be plausible to work out of osx while still developing in visual studio. and working in a windowed mode didnt seem to do much for me as i then cannot utilize my monitors as efficiently. I will try switching to a 1.* version to see what features i personally lose (if any) and report back. thanks for the suggestion.
