thedailyhustle
I install 10.4.6 JaS a long long time ago and used to boot using windows bootloader and boot.ini with chain0. I now have grub residing in the MBR, and want to know how to boot it properly? My OSX86 portion of menu.lst reads: title OSX86 root (hd0,2) makeactive chainloader +1 Whne attempting to boot OSX from grub I get an Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format. Which with further reading means, This error is returned if the kernel image being loaded is not recognized as Multiboot or one of the supported native formats (Linux zImage or bzImage, FreeBSD, or NetBSD). I had head of using chainloader /etc/chain0, but I get error 17: cannot mount selected partition. Is it possible to boot OSX 10.4 using grub? Thanks for all help in advance. I am trying to get OSX up again so I can use XCode and iPhone SDK on my x86 if possible. MacNutty
Try install darwin boot loader instead of GRUB. It works fine... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135754-error-when-trying-to-boot-w-grub/#findComment-961837 Share on other sites
