Some software works some software doesnt

Could someone point me in the right direction?

 

I find it strange that certain software will run while other software doesn't work. I have installed my copy of CS3 and pretty much all of the software I would ever need without a problem however two particular pieces of software are giving me issues.

 

1. My color calibration software Eye-One. The install on the disk crashes and when I download it from the site it will install but the program itself crashes.

 

2. Epson 4870 Scanner driver crashes on install.

 

3. Final Cut Pro. Both my copy from disk and a second from elsewhere.

 

I have both of the following pieces of software installed on an old sony vaio with Tiger without a problem. Both say they are leopard compatible.

 

Where should I start. Are these issues with having an AMD processor, Kernel versions, Leopard, kexts or what?

DRIVES: 1x WD 74gb Raptor SATA 1.5, 3x WD Caviar 80gb SATA 3, NEC DVD Burner (ND3550A), ASUS DVD ROM (E-616A2)

INSTALL: Kalyway 10.5.2 AMD + all software updates from apple apart from system updates.

maybe its because you are using AMD...
