mka
Here is the thing, I have installed the os x 10.5.5 on my laptop, and at first my usb HD and flash disk wouldn't mount if they are not plugged in at the time of booting. I figured that out by loading some kexts using lingon. That works; but there's another problem, if I pull out my usb HD and/or flash disk for a certain amount of time, say 1 hour or so and plug them back, they don't mount again. I used "kextstat" to check out, and found that the kexts necessary for mounting are no longer loaded. So the question is, is there a mechanism to automatically unload kexts that OS X doesn't "like"? and if there is, how can I disable or modify that mechanism? pritthish
the USB hotpluggin prob is probably coz your system.kext version isnt the same as your kernel version (should be running 9.5 on both if you are on 10.5.5 with vanilla kernel) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135551-auto-kexts-unloading-mechanism/#findComment-960699 Share on other sites
