MDW2
Network card on my ASUS P5K isn't supported in MacOSX Leopard (10.5.4). I know that network cards RTL8139 are supported so I bought Realtel RTL 8139D for PCI. I've installed it in my PC. The card works well in Windows XP Pro SP2. Unfortunatelly the card doesn't work in MacOSX Leopard 10.5.4 on the PC. I've installed drivers AppleRTL8139Ethernet but list of PCI cards in MacOSX is still empty. I've already tried 3 versions of the drivers. Always result is the same. The card doesn't work. :-( Does RTL8139 PCI work in Hackintosh? What should I do? Need I other version of RTL8139 drivers? Could somebody help me? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135303-realtek-rtl8139-d-on-pci-doesnt-work/ Share on other sites
bobbagoose
Yeah it does work, I recently bought a budget 8139 pci card and it worked in Kaly 10.5.2 - 10.5.4 and now I'm running iDeneb 10.5.5. Unfortunately I can't really give you any advice because it worked out the box for me, except now I tried updating the drivers and it fell over and I can't get it working properly now. So, yeah I'm just offering some reassurance that it WILL work, maybe you could do a fresh install or something? If I get mine fixed I'll let you know what I did and maybe this will work for you. Good Luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135303-realtek-rtl8139-d-on-pci-doesnt-work/#findComment-959193 Share on other sites
MDW2
Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately RTL8139 in PCI doesn't work in my Hackintosh. I need net in Hackitosh. Does somebody know what card I should buy? Maybe Apple USB Ethernet? ASNNetworks
Yeah the 8139D can give problems to some...It's supposed to work out of the box, for some it works for others it doesn't. I have it aswell, and it doesn't work...Well it does work, but the connection drops after a couple of minutes... So the 8139D has mixed results:( Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135303-realtek-rtl8139-d-on-pci-doesnt-work/#findComment-961059 Share on other sites
