Ok so I've read wiki and the HCL for 10.4.5, i've searched the forums for a couple days now and i've come up with a setup that I think should basically work out of the box once assembled.

Intel BOXD915GLVGL Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 915GL Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - OEM $49.90 (REFURB)

Intel Pentium 4 630 Prescott 800MHz FSB LGA 775 EM64T Processor Model BX80547PG3000F - Retail $169.00

CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model VS1GBKIT400 - Retail $66.25

NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE/ATAPI Model ND-3550A - OEM $35.99

Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM $53.00

Antec Minuet 300 Black/Silver Steel/Plastic MicroATX Slim Case Computer Case 300W ATX12V Power Supply - Retail $76.99

Total (including shipping): $480.91

I understand that going with an intel 915G chipset is not the best for the future. I plan on buying a macbook pro in the future anyway and this setup will get converted to something else (media center, etc).

Does anyone know how much onboard video memory the GMA900 has on this mobo???

The P4 processor I'm torn over. The Celeron D 326 is a very compatible dual core processor but I've read in a couple posts that if you plan on doing anything involving rosetta, it's slow and it's worth the $$$ to get a low end P4 like the 630HT.

I'm not sold on the case right now mainly because it's $77. My plan is to mod it, make it all white, add some details to it and make it a customized macintel that's nice and small, but looks good at the same time.

Opinions concerning this setup are appreciated especially if you see a hardware conflict!!! Thanks

I'm also concidering this bundle, seems to be more future compatible and better hardware. Slightly concerned about the mobo with this set. Opinions?

Well i decided against the intel boards and went with an ASUS P5LD2-VM board and the rest of the hardware which you can find in the attached jpg of my spreadsheet. I'll post success/failure of native install in Asus P5LD2-VM forum incase anyone wants to read it. Effectively this topic is closed
