grentz
Ok, after having my Keyboard and Mouse not work on my desktop after installation, I thought I would try a new machine (as i think there is a conflict with the Via chipset for the USB): http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...013entry86013 So, I tried a few other older machines that would refuse to start the installer, but finally i tried it on my Centrino Notebook and the installer started and ran perfectly. I could use my mouse, keyboard, everything, it ran perfectly. Then, it rebooted and goes to the screen with the Apple Logo and the spinning circle thing below it (the initial boot screen) and it just sits there and does nothing (besides have the circle spinning). Any Ideas? The notebook is an ECS G553: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/Prod...nuID=18&LanID=9 This is my last machine to try as my other computers will not even start the installer This is kinda sadening for me, i spent about 5 days downloading to get this iso and then finally when i do get it, i have spent 4 hours trying to get it to work on something and i get hung up (keyboard and mouse on my main machine, stuck on boot on laptop). AndrewH
There's problem with VIA Usb? That's odd, my usb works fine, and its VIA... Maybe you just need to set it up correctly Andrew Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13518-stuck-on-initial-boot-screen-after-install/#findComment-86100 Share on other sites

treleung
I think me and you are having the same problem. I however have spent like 3 days straight working on it(I don't like giving up on things even for a minute) and cannot get it to work. Let me get this straight were you able to boot into it after the installation finished? That's how it was for me, boots into it once then on the next time around freezes at the grey screen and eventually gives me the "stop logo" maybe if we could figure out a common problem we could fix whatever is going on. Did you use the universal 10.4.5. dvd? What options did you choose to install? I installed the intel base patch (which I guess is required), then I installed the sse2 patch because thats what my processer is. Besides that I only installed the system and required progs so I could speed the install up (done it like 4 times now). grentz
well no, i was never able to boot into it at all after the installer. I used the 10.4.5 dvd that has the upgrade to 4.5 (so it is actually 4.4) I choose not to do the 4.5 upgrade (as it caused problems the first time around) and the same thing happened. i installed the intel patches and that was it (along with fonts and the base system). No printers, x11, amd, 4.5 upgrade, etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13518-stuck-on-initial-boot-screen-after-install/#findComment-86722 Share on other sites
