kyzerblayd
I am going to set up a machine with two PCIE cards. One will be a Quadro FX 4500 512 which will be dedicated solely to the mac partition. I wish to run XP in VMware Fusion (or any other Virtual Machine Software). I realize the VM runs with limited Graphics Support - but what if I dedicate my second Video Card (a Radeon HD 4850 1G) solely to the VM? Is that possible? Also, I have 4 hard drives on this machine. Currently one 500G with a Windows XP installation, two 500G's making up a RAID 0 (using Intel Matrix Storage Driver). I am going to install a fourth 500G drive tomorrow onto which I will install Kalyway 10.5.2. Will it be possible for me to set up the machine so it constantly is booted into the Mac OS, with a VM set up to load in my original Windows installation into the VM? As I mentioned above, I will be installing two video cards into this box. The Quadro 4500 with flashed ROM will be dedicated to the Mac, and I am hoping to dedicate the Radeon to the VM of my XP install. If this works then I could have full graphics support within my XP Virtual Machine. Comments? Suggestions? kyzerblayd
OK, upon further exploration it appears that no virtual machines support video cards at all. If anybody knows differently, please inform me! Donk
OK, upon further exploration it appears that no virtual machines support video cards at all. If anybody knows differently, please inform me! Not possible at present. Hardware, buses and support chips are coming which may allow this but nothing does it at present. kyzerblayd
I tried to install both of these cards, dedicating the quadro to the mac boot partition and the radeon to the pc boot partition. the mac works fine until I install the radeon, because it gets mixed up having two video cards installed. How can I hide the Radeon from the mac so it only sees the quadro and runs properly?
