I have a Gateway 6860FX

specs:

Intel T8300 2.4GHz

4GB Ram

320GB HDD

Nvidia 8800GTS

Intel GM965 chipset

Keep getting this reboot message from Mac OSx myself. I've installed Kalyway 1.5.2. Could not get the disc to load up to the point of preparing the hard disk for installation before. I changed the setting of Plug'n'Play OS to Yes so that the OS would do the configuring of devices for me. Anyway, I've got past the installation now, to the point where it says I must reboot.

Hardware I am using:

ASUS P5KPL-AM Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz E7200

Built-in Audio: VIA VT1708B 8

LAN: Realtek RTL8102E PCI-E Fast Ethernet

Chipset: Intel G31 ICH7

Graphics Card: ASUS Nvidia GeForce 9500GT

Installing to a Western Digital 80GB IDE Hard Disk, not that I think that matters at all.

I noticed when I've got to the Boot Options, it says Nvidia VESA 3.0 7MB Graphics or something similar when the graphics card is 512MB.

I decided to install NVinject-512, opted for the Vanilla Kernel as well.

I've tried -x -f -s -v and think I've typed it correctly for different kernels and getting same sort of messages. I understand what each of those commands do. I got asked to type exit once when I tried this.

I've been advised somewhere on here to try deleting a .kext file. Will have to find out which one it is now though and would have no idea how to delete it anyway. I think I should maybe go back to viewing some videos on YouTube for this if nobody is able to point me in the right direction with this. From what I am saying here, you will probably have gathered that I have little knowledge on the subject of running Mac OS on a PC and would like to know more. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

boot with -v at the F8 prompt and see where your getting a kernel panic

did that, wrote what i could down.

i got one thing saying ".com.apple.drive.itunesphone driver ...no kernel" (something like that)

then i also got a bunch of things saying "family specific matching fails" for things like sata, pata
