Slice
I tried different "solutions". Nothing works. Neither TSC sync XNU patch nor OpenHaltRestart nor IntelSpeedStep nor GenericCPUPowerManagement. Because it is not a problem of Core 2 Duo. It is a problem of AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext. Without it shutdown works fine. Other observation? Any other idea what to do? Krazubu
Maybe there's a missing device property string to inject to add proper power management support ? This is also a problem with ATI and nVidia boards. Slice
In my ioreg I found that almost all devices have "CurrentPowerState=2" except AppleDisplay that has "...=1". I think the problem is here. Without DSDT patch I can enter desktop only after sleep trick. Also PowerManagement problem! Inside DSDT I erase all video connections except LCD (thank vaag for the trick). Now I no more need sleep trick. What is the relation? It is also part of AppleDisplay driver inside IOGraphicsFamily.kext. I think a solution is here. Investigations needed. 3100FB v 1.5.18 works. But newer v 1.5.30 give me message Nov 12 15:08:44 localhost kernel[0]: IG: Invalid firmware max backlight setting and doesn't work. "Backlight" is also property of IOGraphicsFamily. Firmware is a difference between Native Mac and Hackintosh.
