hey guys.. i'm looking at getting a new motherboard as mine is a bit cheap and nasty. i've used the 321 (or 123 - cant remember) boot cd to get a vanilla install from the stock standard leopard disc. after installing leopard i just install 4 kexts... and i've got a perfect system. It's a beautiful thing... but i'm wanting a better motherboard anyway.

There's not much price difference between the boards and besides the chipsets im not sure what the difference is. The P35 seems to be the most popular board on these forums so i'm leaning towards it, but is the ep45 ready to take it's spot? does everything work as well on the ep45 as it does on the p35? and what is the ep35?

i'm just trying to figure out what the most 'supported' motherboard of these 3 are...

cheers!

I have no idea. I think P45 boards work with a BIOS hack, but P35 boards are supported wonderfully. P45 boards might get the same level of support after the next iMac/Mac Pro update.

As for GA-P35-* vs GA-EP35-*, I think it depends on what feature set you get. AFAICT, all the Gigabyte P35 boards work fine with minimal work needed. There's several threads on EP35 and P35 installation, just take a look a couple and make a decision based on that.

btw. if it helps. My GA-P35-DS3L only need a quick run of HDAPatcher and everything works fine. iATKOS 4.1i.
