ntsmkfob Posted October 31, 2008 Share Posted October 31, 2008 The Airport Extreme Update that's just appeared on Software Update replaces the IONetworkingFamily binary in IONetworkingFamily.kext/MacOS. On my Badaxe2 with the modified kext, it causes Time Machine to issue an error "Time Machine failed to get MAC address for machine" followed by error 18 - Cookies don't match. Time Machine then fails to do the backup. The solution was to put back the previous version of IONetworkingFamily.kext, or re-apply Time Machine fix.
