uketernity
Hi Guys, Got me a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L mobo with intel ICH9 chipset and realtek 888 audio chipset. Im getting audio after using either the applazilia kext or using applehadapatcher 1.2, however, the audio is quite crackly. If i just play a sinlge sound, like an alert or something, the sound comes out fine at any volume, the problem seems to be when you try and push "too much" audio out at once. Seems silly I know, but if I go into system config > sounds and click on an alert sound multiple times you can hear it playing but its very crackly. The sound is somewhat like this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=6424 And especially broken up when playing a music file or streaming audio from the web. I tried the fsb fix in this post: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...crackling+audio but it didnt make any difference, and it stopped my kyboard from working. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Oli
TD_D
Got exactly the same problem, no solution as yet :-( Wondering if messing around with the preamp values in AppleHDA.kext might help - it's almost as if it's 'blowing out' the sound initially... uketernity
Tried the voodoo kernel beta and it totally fixed the problem, i also read some posts about audio crackling due to incorrect front side bus detection, guess the voodoo kernel fixed that issue too as my clock now stays in sync. Just search this forum for voodookernel or goole it. Hope that helps Oli
