Where do i find JMicronATA.kext ?

Yeah that works (avoid older "JM 64 Bit fixed downloads or JM patches from OSX86 DVDs- they didnt work really!)

More easier:

http://code.google.com/p/darwin-ata/downloads/list

here are always the newest JM and newest AppleVIA ( both fixes > 3 GB RAM problems!)

 

With that JM (0.6) you have no more problems using more RAM (using not fixed jm.kexts: kernel panic or very instable system).

This is an solution if you dont want / cant switch to SATA (AHCI) Only.

Ok, I´ve installed the newer Version of JMicron.kext from the Goolge Source Code Page above and my DVD Drive works now! Nice! Thanks, i wanted to buy since a year or so a new SATA Writer with Lightscribe, but now my old good working IDE LiteOn has to do his job even longer :D
