But I had AHCI off since I had to install Vista again since my new video card toasted the MBR and vista wont install with AHCI turned on. 5.5 works fine but when I turned on AHCI again it wont boot, it stops loading when it tries to load some AHCI thing. SilverMac Posted October 18, 2008 Share Posted October 18, 2008 I have no issues turning AHCI on or off. Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R and using Vista and iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5. It is worth noting perhaps that I installed the Gigabyte AHCI drivers in Vista that do show a message pre-booting that didn't appear with AHCI turned on before installing them.
