eagerinsight
I'm running VMware Workstation 6.5 on a Vista host. My guest OS is OSX 10.4.7, and the VMDK file is only 5 GB. I resized the file with vdiskmanager, then using gparted live and/or disk utility within OSX I tried to expand the partition, but I get "This disk contains the start up volume and can't be partitioned". Is there another way to expand this partition?
Lord_Richard_2
Im guess if you backup all data on it, delete it then format it as HFS+ then resize, or install another operating system and set that as active partition. I havent worked with WMware but it seems that error means you cannot rezise your active partition or partition your booted into. Try a gparted live cd or live ubuntu cd.
