A few days ago I installed the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD onto my Gateway ML6721 Laptop. After trial and error of using modified ps/2 kexts for my keyboard and mouse I was finally able to install it by using -f -x at boot.

After installing I booted with -f -x and set up an account. After restarting, I booted with -f -s to get out of safemode, and into the normal OS. Everything was fine. Then yesterday I restarted and couldn't boot with -f -s anymore. Half the time it would load with a jumbled frozen screen, and the other half of the time it wouldn't get past a certain part at the screen with the black backround and white font (shown below). Infact, the only thing I could use to boot was -f -x. (I need -f to load my ps/2 kexts, unless there's another way?). I reinstalled kalyway 10.5.2, but the same error is happening. I'd like to boot to the normal OS, because in safemode I can't use my wireless realtek.

When I booted with -v, it froze here: rtl__r1000__ext: Ethernet address 00:e0:b8:e1:c4:53

Here is a few lines leading up to that:

dsmes: Initializing...

dsmes: Hook and decryption contexts set!

dsmes: Starting...

GFXO: match category IO Framebuffer exists

Ntfs driver [Flags: R/O]

RTL8187B: Ethernet Address 00:16:44:6b:93:95

NTFS Volume name Recovery, version 3.1

NTFS Volume name Vista Ultimate, version 3.1

Oct. 10 my-name-mac-pro ntupdate - pro ntupdate [64]: can't find host time.apple.com

Oct. 10 my-name-mac-pro ntupdate [64]: no servers can be used, exiting

rtl__r1000_ext: Ethernet address 00:e0:b8:e:c4:53

Then, after a while, my mouse comes up with the rainbow circle, but the black backround with the white font is still there, and this is as far as I get.

Also, I have Macdrive, which allows me to view and read and write to my Leopard drive from Vista.

I am dualbooting Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 and Kalyway 10.5.2

If you need any more information let me know. Thanks.
