cowhelmet
Your running a P5N-D BOARD correct? Are there any firmware upgrades that we should try?
cowhelmet
I think I'm going to switch over to a USB wireless adapter that way it takes the system board out of the picture more. I thinking this is a incompatibility in my system board. I'll let you know.
Jappiman
It might be due to the pci express? I got something that could relate to it, some kind of irq problem? This is the relevant log information when the network stopped: It's an intel P35 chipset, the mainboard is a p5k-e wifi-AP 10/29/08 11:23:06 PM kernel AppleYukon: 00000010,00000272 skgesirq - AppleYukon: error - PCI express protocol violation error 10/29/08 11:23:06 PM kernel AppleYukon: 00000010,00000264 skgesirq - AppleYukon: error - unexpected IRQ Status error 10/29/08 11:23:06 PM kernel AppleYukon: 00000000,00000000 skgehw - cppSkDrvEvent - SK_DRV_ADAP_FAIL Edit: Tried changing the kernel, but no luck either (voodo 9.5 beta)
cowhelmet
It could be. I'm running an SLI setup. Obviously only one card is in use, but perhaps there is an IRQ issue. I'll try taking a card out to see if it helps. I'll be picking up a USB Ethernet adapter tomorrow if this doesn't resolve it.
cowhelmet
Picked up a TRENDnet wireless usb adapter (TEW-424UB) $8.99 after rebate from Microcenter. Works flawlessly no more internet drops. If you want to save yourself the headache until a fix is discovered for the drops than do yourself a favor and pick this thing up.
Rob_Quads
Sorry to drag this up but I have also been seeing this on 10.5.5 I have seen it on both onboard and PCI network card Onboard Realtek 8211B ( Working by using nForceLAN.kext) DLink DGE-528T ( Working by editing AppleRTL8139Ethernet.kext) I have tried DHCP and fixed IP and get the problems with both
