Hey guys.. i've been trying for ages to restore my 10.4.5 installation!..

Like an idiot i tried installing Logitech Control Center 1.62 without checking if its a unibin or not.. Installation went fine and everything.. but when i rebooted it sticks at LoginWindow and nothing else happens.. (osx boots in the background).

LCC had an uninstall option, so i booted up with -x.. ran it.. rebooted and same {censored}!. I cant boot in normal mode now and its doing my head in! I checked to see if there are any kexts that prevent the the system from booting but nothing.. even tried replacing the LoginWindow again.. (cause it seems like the same prob when you just update the security updates).

Any pointers would be appreciated.

any way to get a detailed view of whats going on when booting.. and see why loginwindow doesnt popup? (funilly enough mouse pops up and everything).

quite amazed that noone responded.. surely someone managed to screw his 10.4.5 installation somehow and was able to find the error without resintalling. any takers?

yes, I tried to install it twice actually. But I was able to uninstall it both times by running it again. Sorry to hear this didn't work for you. I read about some boot options to remove drivers. I guess that would be your only chance. Sorry that I can't point you to a link. It's somewhere on this board for different drivers.

good luck
