Tralce
I want to dual boot with Ubuntu and Tiger (I don't have money for Leopard) so is it at all possible to use GRUB on a Macbook? If so, will it boot OS X 10.4 AND Ubuntu? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/129847-grub-on-a-mac/ Share on other sites
shavex
Well I have Mac, Windows, and Ubuntu all booting from a GRUB menu on a non-Apple computer tho, so in theory it shouldnt be any different for an Apple. LuCasn
GRUB handles GUID partitions without a problem, so you should be fine. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/129847-grub-on-a-mac/#findComment-920622 Share on other sites

Sure you can let GRUB start an OS that is installed on a harddrive using the GPT, but you can't install GRUB on a GPT harddrive. You must use MBR to do so. I already tested installing GRUB on a GPT harddrive, it failed. Also, I don't know how GRUB handles Apple-EFI. @Tralce: Take a look at rEFIt.
